When To Call

Reach out if pain, swelling, bleeding, or sensitivity becomes severe, continues, or starts getting worse.

After your visit

Care Instructions By Treatment

The anesthesia you received during the procedure should wear off in 1 to 3 hours after your treatment. Do not chew on the side of your mouth that is numb until it wears off; this helps prevent biting your tongue or cheek. It is normal for the teeth that underwent this procedure to be sensitive to hot, cold, or pressure, and this sensitivity can last from a few days to a few weeks. If your teeth and gums are improving, not worsening, there is no need to worry.

You should have been given a prescription for ibuprofen (Motrin); it is not for pain but to help reduce swelling and sensitivity in the treated area. If you find that you are allergic to, or cannot tolerate, the medication prescribed, please get in touch with our office so we can prescribe something different.

If, after the anesthesia has worn off, you feel as though the teeth that have been worked on are hitting first when you bite down, please contact us so we can make changes to alleviate the imbalance and discomfort.

Recently, my son had his six-month exam and cleaning. All went well. As always, his experiences with Dr. Sable and hygienist Nicole are professional, kind, and friendly. This also includes treatment of myself and, without a doubt, all other patients. Julie and Ashley at the front desk are also a friendly and competent asset to Dr. Sable's practice.

Broke a tooth while up north. Called and left a message that I needed to have it taken care of. Dr. Sable called me Sunday afternoon and set up an appointment for Monday at noon. Now, that's what I call taking care of your customers. They go the extra mile to make sure that you are taken care of properly. Great doctor and staff. You can't go wrong trusting them with your care.
